Obagi Nu-DERM®
Nu-DERM® is the most intense Obagi program. Nu-DERM® "transforms your skin at the cellular level," working to reverse the effects of sun, hormones, stress and pollution. It actually corrects the function and health of your skin. It is designed to treat significant unwanted pigment in your face, re-nourish your skin, and dramatically clarify your skin. It may also improve the appearance of some fine lines. You will exfoliate during this program and experience some redness, but the results are worth it. It is can also be an effective treatment for Melasma.
Obagi C-Rx®
While Nu-DERM® can be considered a reparative program, C-Rx® is a more preventative program for patients with less sun damage. It is a vitamin C and hydroquinone based program that can correct and restore balance to lack-luster skin, brightening the skin from the inside out. Like Nu-DERM®, it can regulate the production of melanin producing cells, enhance collagen production, minimize environmental damage, and restore your skin's natural luminescence-but to a lesser degree than Nu-Derm® in patients with less sun damage. You will generally exfoliate less and have less redness than with Nu-DERM®, but should notice a significant improvement in the smoothness, texture, clarity and shine of your skin. If you do not need Nu-Derm® because your skin is not badly sun damaged, this is a great skin treatment program to start. It may be all you will ever need to preserve your skin's natural radiance.
Obagi Nu-DERM® and C-Rx® are medical treatment programs that must be initially started and monitored by a physician's office. Most of these products are prescription-grade or actual prescription products. They must be applied morning and night in specific doses to have the appropriate effect. The treatment regimen should be customized to your skin.
If you are already an experienced Nu-DERM® or C-Rx® product user, we are happy to sell you replacement products.
Because we feel so strongly that you should only start these products under medical supervision, however, we do not sell "starter kits" without a consultation.
Starting out on Obagi Nu-DERM® or C-Rx® requires a consultation with our aesthetic nurse. The consultation usually lasts about 30 minutes. If you start the system that day, there is no charge for the consultation. . She will place you on a treatment regimen customized to your own skin and will carefully monitor your progress. As you progress through treatment, she is available to see you and answer any questions you may have.
Obagi Professional C Serum®
Free radical formation in your skin is a direct result of sun exposure. The benefits of a high quality vitamin C to help protect against free radicals and help rejuvenate the skin is well recognized. The problem with many vitamin C preparations is that they are very unstable; they break down quickly on exposure to light. Vitamin C is what turns brown in an apple after you cut into it. Obagi Professional C Serum® is a high quality very stable L-ascorbic acid form of vitamin C packaged in dark glass to further protect it from the sun. It comes in 15% and 20% and can be used by itself, in conjunction with Nu-Derm® or even with our ProCyte products. (It is not necessary with C-Rx®, since C-Rx® is a vitamin C based program with the same high quality vitamin C that provides benefits even beyond the vitamin C.)
